Pictures of Ayia Napa snapped by us during the last year upto christmas. Cyprus is still busy during the winter time.
Our family's travels have taken us all over Cyprus. Along the way we have taken hundreds of photos of this picturesque island.
Now we want to share our photos of Ayia Napa and other popular resorts.
Its great to see real images taken by real people who live here. You will get some ideas of activities and things to do, places to see and explore.
I hope you enjoy these personal pictures of Ayia Napa.
Water World Ayia Napa is the largest water theme park in Europe.
Lots of swimming pools, water rides, slides including a very high and scary water slides that you can see from the motorway. Its like a huge spiral. People waiting at the top of the slide look really tiny. Too scary for me, my daughter loved it.
The park has eating places, relaxation areas, sunbeds, changing rooms and personal secure lockers.
There is a local bus service to the water park. You can’t miss it – the bus I mean! It has WATER PARK written in big red letters on the sides of the bus.
A view of Ayia Napa harbor with restaurants and shops. We like to walk along the path which takes you all the way round the harbor.
There are lots of cafes, snack bars and restaurants set along side the path. We like to dander along and if we fancy a coffee its just 2 steps off the walkway.
Lots of other eateries and shops are within walking distance in the square. It's full of life, food and shops. What we like most habour area is that its mainly a pedestran.
You can book boat trips in the square at the entrance to the harbor or just take a walk around to see the boats and choose whichever one takes your fancy. We have taken many boat trips over the years. You can choose a 1 hour or half day cruising. There are also fishing trips on offer.
The kiddies playground pictured here is set in a lovely safe and well kept green area close to the shops and eating places in the square and close to the harbour and sea views.
You can see the harbor in the background.
The Agios Georgios church is right in the centre of the square. It is a beautiful, well looked after church and a pretty contrast to all the hustle and bustle of the area.
I think this is a real sweet looking church! Don't you?
All aboard the Black Pearl. The Black Pearl Pirate Ship Ayia Napa Harbour - Oh err!!
This is a replica of the black pearl ship from the pirates of the Caribbean films. We took a boat trip on the black pearl and had loads of fun from the minute we stepped onboard.
All the staff where dressed as pirates. The guy who was dressed as Captain Jack Sparrow was the spitting image of Johnny Depp.
It was a 4 hour cruise with 2 stops to swim if we liked. They also supplied a buffet style lunch.
We sailed round the coast, pasting Protaras and lovely Cape Greco upto the boarder of Famagusta.
The pirates entertained us all the way. They made sure all the kids and adults had a great time. We loved the whole 4 hours and would definitely take the black pearl trip again.
Ahoy me ship mates!
The yellow submarine is actually a glass bottom boat which offers trips around the coastal areas.
We took a trip on the yellow sub and watched the sealife swimming under us, it was hipnotic.
There was a diver onboard who fed the fish below to make sure we could see as many fish as possible.
The boat sailed as far as the Ayia Napa Seacaves and lasted about 11/2 hours. It was a really interesting experience.
The orange Nemo boat is more of a cruising yacht.
It sails along the coast too. There is room to relax on a sunbed, take a swim or snorkel if you like.
The cruise lasts for 4 hours and lunch is on the table too! It's more of a relaxing trip than anything else.
The Famagusta Boat also pictured along side the Nemo has a large glass bottom, like the yellow submarine only with more room onboard.
This crazy looking multi coloured boat also does trips around the coast. You certainly won't miss it!
A few of the best Ayia Napa Hotels which overlook the harbour and the Mediterranean sea.
What a view to wake up to every morning!

I really hope, if you choose a holiday to Cyprus, you enjoy it as much as we do living in Cyprus. All the best Catherine I'll leave you with a beautiful view from Ayia Napa to Cape Greko and the amazing natural bridge Yes the sea is really that intensely deep blue at the natural bridge Cape Greco. I couldn't believe it myself. You need to take a trip to really appreciate the view. Take a picnic too! |
